Leron 2024

The cultural and folkloric association “Charaviscas” from Domaio-Moaña won the 22nd edition of the “Leron” International Folklore Festival. The jury, composed of Lorella Limoncin Toth, Lidija Nikočević, and Massimo Brajković, awarded the folklorists from Spain for their instrumental virtuosity, the originality of their musical instruments, the variety of their costumes, and the passion of their performance. The prize for originality and philological accuracy of costumes went to the folkloric ensemble “Koprivnica” from Koprivnica, while the prize for instruments and musical performance was awarded to the folkloric group “Handrlák” from Kunovice (Czech Republic). The prize for choreography and traditional dance was given to the Italian group “Lis Primulis di Zampis” from Udine.

In addition to the winning groups, the folkloric group Trachtenverein Rossecker (Austria) and the AC “San Leonardo” (Italy) took the stage for the Festival’s final evening. On this occasion, plaques were presented to all participants, and with the lowering of the flag, another excellent edition of the Festival came to a close. However, the celebrations continued: just like the previous evening, people gathered in Piazza della Libertà to keep the festivities going.
