It was once again a difficult task for the jury to award the prizes for the nineteenth edition of “Leron”. The winner was the ensemble of the Cultural Artistic Society “Kraljevačka riznica” of Kraljevo (Serbia), which won the jury’s favour for the overall performance. The prize for the originality of the costumes went to the Cultural Artistic Society “Sveta Ana – Vučjak” in Karlovac, while the award for instruments and musical performance was awarded to the folk group “Lubàna”, from the homonymous town in Latvia. As for the choreography and dance, the folk group “Eco del Gargano” from San Giovanni Rotondo (Italy) triumphed. In addition to these, two other groups were competing: “Monte San Biagio” from Latina, and “Na Placi”, from Šempeter pri Gorici.
Like every year, everyone was very busy over the festival weekend participating in the usual parade, attending the reception by the Mayor, the round table conference, the Holy Mass and the performances. Besides, the now regular folk dance workshops took place in the squares of the historic centre. Thankfully, another colourful cultural adventure to the satisfaction of the organisers, the participants and the broad audience.
