Leron 2003

More and more colourful and heterogeneous, Leron reaches its third year of existence, surprising the public with some of the unique and spectacular routines.

In the morning the usual round table entitled “Original, stylised and reproduced folklore: the importance of correct scenic transposition” was held by the organisers. In the evening, however, the main street of Vodnjan, Trgovačka ulica – Via Merceria, became the runway for all the participants. Each of them had an opportunity to give the public a hint of their program, showing their beautiful costumes.

Preceded by the brass band of the Italian Community of Vodnjan, the following groups marched: the Cultural Artistic Society “Mate Balota” from Kaštel Novi (Croatia), the “Michele Grion” group from Gorizia (Italy), “Jedliniok” from Wrocław (Poland), the “Družina” group from Pag (Croatia), the “Mera Menhir” from Merine (Lecce, Italy), the folklore group of the Italian Community of Bale and “Peroj 1657” from Peroj.

Although out of competition, the flag-wavers of Feltre (Italy) and the members of the folk group of the Italian Community of Vodnjan received thunderous applause for their performance. The technical jury, led by Anita Forlani, awarded the groups “Družina” from Pag (Croatia), the “Mera Menhir” from Merine (Lecce, Italy) and the “Michele Grion” group from Capriva (Italy).
